1. Project Overview
Makihome is a Smart Home project developed by Makipos with the aim of building a complete ecosystem of devices and an IoT platform, serving the smart home needs of households and urban residential projects.
Makipos is responsible for the entire product development process—from hardware design, firmware development, IoT Cloud platform construction, and control app development, to large-scale device manufacturing. The system is required to operate reliably, ensure synchronization between devices, and meet deployment standards in environments with a large number of devices.
2. Challenges
- Existing devices on the market operate independently, each using different connection standards and separate mobile apps, making it difficult to build a unified Smart Home ecosystem.
- A centralized IoT platform is required, supporting regional access control and stable operation when deployed across large numbers of devices in apartment complexes or urban residential areas.
- Imported devices are difficult to customize, limiting the ability to adjust design, firmware, and features based on the real usage needs of Vietnamese users.
- Lack of clear technical documents and processes makes deployment and operation inconsistent and difficult to manage at project sites.
